Qualification Scoresheet Uploading Your Times

Optional

In your profile tab, you’ll be able to upload photos or screenshots of your verified times from your GPS watch, fitness tracker, phone app, or equipment screen such as the RowErg, and SkiErg. You can use whichever method you prefer-just make sure your results are clear and readable. We recommend completing each test fresh and on separate days to ensure your best possible performance.

All qualification times must be uploaded no later than 31 days prior to your race day. This allows our team to verify results and finalize start groups for the event. Your assessment will be based on the point system outlined below. The Absolute Mountain staff will review all qualification scores and will handle inaccurate or falsified results directly.

If you choose not to upload your times, that’s totally fine. You’ll simply start with the undesignated group on race day.

Just show up, and race honestly.

Weights & Distances

In the Women’s and Men’s Absolute Division, athletes will wear a weight vest for the entire race, including all workout stations. Men will wear a 20 lbs vest and women will wear a 12 lbs vest. The only exception is the StrengthErg, which is completed pre-race and without a weight vest.

Race rules
by station

    • Max effort for 2 minutes starting 10 minutes prior to your official race start time.

    • Every 10 kg/m is -1 second off your overall time at the end of the race.

    • Start the station with any damper setting you want

  • You will be warned once for all any violation below, if warned more than once, you will be assigned 10 more reps:

    • Medicine ball will be picked up off the ground and go over either shoulder.

    • Participants are not permitted to “throw the ball” but to simply let it fall over their shoulder once it gets above the shoulder. This is a safety reason due to other participants being in the area

    • Keep the medicine ball in your area

    • Enter and exit through the instructed positions

  • You will be warned once for all any violation below, if warned more than once, you will be asked to start again at either the halfway line, or the start of the station:

    • You must maintain your sandbag on your body and will at no point set it down.

      • If you do set it down, you will be asked to start again at either the halfway mark or the start line.

    • Touch your knee to the ground every repetition

    • Stand all the way up after each rep

    • Start the station with any damper setting you want

    • Hit the prescribed distance (700m) before getting off the machine

    • Run or walk backwards at all times, don’t turn sideways

      • Failure to do so will result in the staff asking you to start the station over

    • Drag the sled backwards only the prescribed distance to the marked turnaround line, then continue back to the original station start line.

    • Your body must break the plane of the marked turnaround line before reversing direction and dragging the sled backward to the station start line.

    • To complete the station, only your body must break the plane of the station start line before dropping the harness and proceeding to the next event.

    • Weight must be carried on the side of the body (like a suitcase). No other position is allowed

    • You can run up and down

    • Unlimited amount of switching hands/sides is allowed

      • You must switch hand quickly. It should take no more than 1 second to switch hands.

    • Do not drop the weight

      • Dropping the weight will result in the staff asking you to go 10 steps back down.

    • Start the station with any damper setting you want

    • Hit the prescribed distance (1200m) before getting off the machine

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

  • A: The distances are longer, so there can be more discrepancy in times, and so the pace is more accurate to what people might actually perform at during race day.

  • A: We will still have the race in the rain granted the venues are comfortable with the conditions.

  • A: We recommend running in trail shoes. See our sponsors for some good options

  • A: TBD. Venue specific. Check out their website for more information.

  • A: Yes, but we will only do groups of 12 at a time. If you have more than that, the rest of the group will be in the wave in front or behind you.

  • A: Use any form of GPS tracking for the 3 mile run. If you can use the concept 2 RowErg and SkiErg, that would be the most accurate timing.

  • A: Please read our refund policy at the bottom of each page of our website for more information.

  • A: Prizes will vary at each event.

  • A: Sponsors and vendors will vary at each venue.

Absolute Mountain Specific

  • A: We will do our best to move the snow at critical points in the race route but we plan on running through it. Recommend having a gor-tex running option if you need it.

Absolute Beach Specific

  • A: No. We ask that all participants wear proper footwear.

  • A: Yes, please consult with your doctor if you have any concerns.

  • A: Yes, we will have water stations at the start, finish, and in between each 2km run.

NonProfit Specific

  • A: Yes, but we will not be a part of that process. Our nonprofit partners' relationships are carefully selected and the process for adding another one will take some time.

  • A: Please contact our customer service at customerservice@absolutemountain.com

  • A: Instructions are in the pledgee notification that they should put the participants name down in the notes as the “why” they are donating.

  • A: Yes, we always encourage donations to one of our partnered nonprofits but we do not have an administratively generated form to complete this process.

  • A: No, Absolute Mountain does not take donations or take money indirectly for nonprofits. All donations will go directly to the nonprofits to ensure they receive the full amount of financial gain.

  • A: Yes, you can update your profile at any point to add or subtract nonprofits for upcoming races. However, any pledgee contracts that have been agreed upon will not be able to be altered. You will have to send a new pledgee contract out.
